Who is this for?
The Square Tree Cohorts are for Christian writers who want to grow their craft, stay accountable, and make consistent progress toward a finished manuscript. Come with an idea, a few chapters, or a manuscript already in progress.
How is this different from other writer's groups?
We’re a group of like-minded believers who want to write books that make an impact. We invite the Holy Spirit into our time together, while providing professional coaching and accountability. You’ll bring your pages, share your work, get coached live, and build your manuscript week by week.
What genres do you accept?
We accept most genres, including fiction, nonfiction, memoir, children’s books, fantasy, sci-fi, romance, mystery, and thriller. We do not accept erotica or horror that centers on satanic, occult, or fear-based content. Thrillers and darker stories are welcome and are considered individually based on their content.
Do I have to write overtly Christian books?
No! Your book doesn’t have to be overtly Christian. We love stories and messages that reflect truth, hope, and redemption without necessarily preaching it. Your book can go into dark places, tackle difficult subjects, and show real evil. What matters is where you’re pointing the arrow. We believe the dark amplifies the light, and ultimately, good overcomes evil.
How do I know if I'm ready?
You don’t have to have it all figured out. Come with an idea, an outline, a few chapters, or a book already in progress. We’ll meet you where you are, help you strengthen your writing, and keep you moving toward a finished manuscript.
